About us
A plant molecular scientist, a science communicator, a toddler and three cats all sharing a dream... to live in the country!
When we moved to our 30 acres of undulating land near Canberra in 2011, our 15 months old daughter started calling kangaroos 'tatums', from the sound they make when they hop. This is how Tatum Hills got its name, to preserve the memory of the beginning of our country adventure!
Since then, another baby human joined our family and many beloved farm animals call Tatum Hills home.
Many Tatums and other wildlife also live here and we are always keeping an eye on them too in case they need a hand.
We are still new at farming, but we are learning fast. We love spending time with our animals, getting to know them and constantly improving our facilities to keep them all happy, healthy and safe. We raise dairy goats, llamas, chickens, guinea pigs, bees and more.
We are working to improve our land through revegetation and chemical-free weed control as much as possible. We are establishing a diverse food forest to produce nutritious, chemical-free food for our family. With our farm products, we make sustainable items including soap, bread and cheese.
We are passionate about sharing our journey with the public through regular school tours, workshops, parties and more.
